There’s something timeless about Balboa Park in San Diego. The Spanish-inspired architecture, the lush gardens, and the golden light that pours in just before sunset all make it the perfect place for an engagement session. It is the kind of location where love stories feel like they have stepped straight into a painting, and Madison and Ben’s engagement session was no exception.


We met in the late afternoon, when the light began to soften and the park took on a warm, dreamy glow. The historic archways and ornate details of the buildings gave their photos a romantic, almost European feel, as though we had whisked away to a different country for the day. Between the architecture and the vibrant greenery, every corner felt like a new backdrop waiting to be discovered.


As we strolled through the gardens, Madison and Ben’s energy made the shoot effortless. Their laughter echoed between the grand columns, and their quiet moments together carried such tenderness that you could not help but smile behind the lens. When the sun began to dip lower, the park transformed yet again, casting a golden hue over everything.


Madison and Ben’s engagement photos capture not just their love for each other, but also the timeless beauty of San Diego’s most iconic park. Sunset sessions like this are why Balboa Park will always remain one of my favorite spots to photograph.
